Increasingly, search is our mechanism for how we understand ourselves, our world, and our place within it
The Michael Vincent Band is in the midst of their 2018 Mama’s Rockin’ tour. The 3-piece power blues trio rolled through New England, shot down through the Carolina’s and burned up the Gulf Coast from Pensacola to New Orleans. The tour is to promote their brand new EP, Mama’s Rockin’. The Michael Vincent Band was formed in 2005 in central New Hampshire. Within 3 years of meeting each other, they had formed the band together and became regulars on the local music scene in New Hampshire. In 2009, a road trip landed the band in Mississippi where a college education worth of blues schooling took place for the next several years. This is when the band started hitting the road hard, playing shows from San Antonio to Key West to Boston, and everywhere in between. Thousands of road miles and 100’s of honky-tonks and blues venues serve as the backdrop to what the Michael Vincent Band does, play the blues.
They have countless musical influences, some of which can be heard in their own music. Artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan were very influential early on, but as they grew they progressed to the older blues with artists such as Otis Rush, Johnnie Taylor, Buddy Guy, and of course Freddie King and B.B. King. Tab Benoit, Doyle Bramhall Jr. and Warren Haynes are some newer artists that have also been inspirations for the band. The Michael Vincent Band has found that home is where the blues is, and they thrive playing the music that they learned from listening to these other artists they revere and look up to.
In 2008, they opened the show for some of their idols; including Eric Burdon of the Animals and WAR, and the late Jack Bruce of the band Cream at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook. Since then, they have shared the stage with Blues Legends such as; the late Johnny Winter (Plymouth, NH 2014), Eddie Kirkland (Pensacola Beach, FL 2012), Elvin Bishop (Thornton, NH 2010), Tab Benoit (Gulfport, MS 2013; Plymouth, NH 2016), and Dave Mason (Plymouth, NH 2012), one of the original members of Traffic. They have also played some of the most prestigious clubs in the country, including Buddy Guy’s Legends Club, Chicago IL; The Bradfordville Blues Club, Bradfordville FL; Hog’s Breath Saloon, Key West FL; Ground Zero Blues Club, Clarksdale MS; Bourbon Street Boogie & Blues Bar, Nashville TN; The Florabama, Orange Beach FL; Antone’s, Austin TX; and many many others all over the Eastern US.
